My Stuff
My Other Friends

Love, friendship and success
People say bring happiness
But care for every living thing
Far more contentment will it bring.
-HELLA SUE ROBERTS

If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking
- Emily Dickenson

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin,
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

This page features my pets, my pets' friends, and foster pets. I love animals and often wonder about people who don't love animals. If you are a good person, why wouldn't you care for every living thing? My passion for animals runs very deep. There are not enough words to express how I feel about this issue; my other passion is for children. If I could get through to people raising children, one of my pleas would be to teach your children to love all animals.

Meet my special buddies:

Mudslide

Mudslide on her daily siesta

She is named Mudslide because she looks like a mudslide drink (colors). She has declared the chair in my bathroom to be one of her favorite resting places. That chair used to belong to my special guardians of the bathroom: two of my favorite dolls which will be featured on my Doll Page. What better view from the toilet can you ask for?

As of April 15, 2007, my baby Mudslide passed away. She was 18 years old and said "thank you" right before her last breath. She can never be replaced but I have plenty of love for others. However, Mudslide will always have a special place in my heart and on this page.

Stay tuned for new pets because there WILL be some. Of course, Ace (see below) is still king of the castle!

Ace

Ace on his rock

This is without a doubt the Coolest Turtle in the World. I will soon put up a closeup picture soon so you can see just how cool he is. In this picture, he is actually looking at me because I called him over so I could take his picture. Ace loves to follow anyone that visits the house, going from one end of the tank to the other until you say "hi". And he loves music! People ask me "Can you really love a turtle?" Absolutely. I love him to death. I sometimes think that he is angel sent to watch over me because he does.

Ginger

Ginger

Ginger is actually not my pet because she belongs to my daughter. But I took care of her for many months before she went to her permanent home, so I am her foster Mom. Ginger and I had many midnight snacks together—ranging from bananas to corn. She is very intelligent and even plays hide-and-go-seek.

Just another indication of how intelligent and lovable animals can be when they are treated like they should be treated.

Ginger eventually got two roommates, Snowball who is beautiful....all white....pink eyes, and B-Bop who is by far one of the cutest bunnies you will ever see. Ginger, on the other hand, thinks they are just pains in the asses.

As of late 2003, Ginger passed away and is still in our hearts.

Snowball

She hates it when I pick her up because she don't have time for such nonsense. My daughter hates it when I kiss her and leave lipstick all over her.

Look at those eyes!

As of March 2004, Snowball has passed away but not without giving birth to her son, Solo. I feel like Snowball is still with us though.

B-Bop

I can't tell you how difficult it was to get her to keep still for a few seconds. I caught her here when she was trying to eat my sweater.

Doesn't she look like a toy?

Just adorable. She is lovable too. As of December 2004, we now know that she is a "he" (that's a long story!) and now has a son named Solo. And guess who the mother is? Snowball! See above. I will post a picture of Solo soon.

Mr. Puff

Puffy - No, I will not smile for the camera!

This is Mr. Puff who found me and sort of decided that he belongs to me and that I am his guaranteed source of food. Well, he is right. When he first started visiting, his coat was patchy and unhealthy. Now, look at him; and he is a strictly outside cat. I named him Puffy because he looks like a puff of smoke, and he answers to it now. Mr. Puff greets me everyday when I come home from work and kisses Mudslide when she comes out.

As of the time of this update, I have not seen Puffy in 4 years. I think of him everyday and hope he has found a permanent and warm home.

Puffy - Miraculously, food comes out of this door!

1....2.....3.....4.....5......6.... This is the magic door out of which comes food!

Les Miserables
- Victor Hugo

From the oyster to the eagle, from the swine to the tiger,
all animals are to be found in men and each of them
exists in some man, sometimes several at the time.
Animals are nothing but the portrayal of our virtues
and vices made manifest to our eyes, the visible
reflections of our souls. God displays them
to us to give us food for thought.
